Meriton, Liverpool
The Meriton Liverpool project involves a comprehensive urban infrastructure upgrade designed to enhance public amenities and improve overall functionality within the precinct. The works commenced with a detailed pre-construction assessment, including a full dilapidation survey to evaluate existing structures and surrounding infrastructure.
To maintain progress while minimising public disruption, project scheduling incorporated a strategic mix of day and night shifts. Stakeholder engagement was key, with collaboration between contractors and local businesses ensuring minimal impact on operations and maintaining access across temporary bridge connections. Demolition activities cleared existing pavements in preparation for new infrastructure, followed by utility excavation and installation of water and sewer lines, all executed to strict utility provider standards.
Concrete works introduced new kerbs, gutters, and laybacks to support the evolving streetscape, while a new stormwater management system – featuring an integrated On-Site Detention (OSD) unit – bolstered local drainage efficiency.
One of the more technically complex elements was the installation of a structural soil vault system (Stratavault), requiring meticulous hand and vacuum excavation around live services, including a critical Sydney Water main.
The project also focused on public facility enhancements, incorporating new seating, bike racks, bins, and tactile indicators to create a more accessible and user-friendly environment. Lastly, existing assets were modified and regraded to seamlessly tie into the upgraded design, delivering a cohesive and modernised public domain.
