Landslide Rectification Works, Wahroonga
The scope of this project included site clearing and decommissioning of known redundant infrastructure, earthworks, construction of a new stormwater drainage system, various maritime structures, concrete works and pavement works to create a new car park and restore an existing boat ramp.
This project presented many technical and environmental challenges.
The technical challenges included the treatment and correction of the existing boat ramp and failed maritime structures and the discovery of unknown and clashing stormwater infrastructure.
The environmental challenges included contending with tide levels, the discovery of unknown redundant fuel infrastructure, limited access, and external stakeholders like NSW Fire who were back burning while the works were being undertaken. ACSG had to manage undertaking the scope of works while environmental experts were present on site testing the redundant fuel infrastructure for leakages and the surrounding earth for hydrocarbon contamination.
ACSG was able to deliver the works while contending with a plethora of constraints and restrictions, both to do with the physical environment and stakeholder expectations and requirements, particularly those that were not known during the time of tender. ACSG was even able to offer the client advice regarding the best ways to reduce the scope of works in order to achieve overall project milestones.
