Stakeholder Approvals Managed

Client: Parramatta City Council

Works were undertaken for Parramatta City Council. The purpose of the works was to improve the street scape aesthetics.

Existing concrete structures were demolished and removed from the site. Earthworks included site preparation and regrading. Concrete works for this project included kerb and gutter, footpaths, driveways and pram ramps. Flexible pavements were locally demolished and reconstructed in order to meet the finished levels of the new kerb and gutter infrastructure. To complete the scope, ACSG placed and installed line marking, signposting, top soil, and turf.

There was some external stakeholder management required as part of undertaking the works. An interface existed between the site (council owned) and an RMS road. The works that were carried out on the RMS road required a ROL and ACSG was tasked with managing all approvals and obtaining the ROL.

This is another example of ACSG’s capacity to manage projects with high exposure to local communities. This project was unique in that ACSG had to place limitations on when residents could access their properties. This involved a very complex level of coordination between meeting external stakeholders’ needs and also delivering the works to the tendered programme. ACSG was able to overcome this hurdle by identifying the high-risk nature of this task early on in the project and implemented a simple and effective mitigating solution. Residents were notified well in advance of when works would occur on their driveways, leaving enough time to create and seize the opportunity to negotiate schedules to suit both Council’s and local Resident’s needs.

Communication with local residents, executing the works as planned, and ensuring access to residential properties were paramount key performance indicators during the undertaking of this project.

Furthermore, these works were carried out in close proximity to live traffic. To ensure the highest standards of safety were met, ACSG commissioned a traffic management plan that catered to both live traffic and the safety of pedestrians. Overall, the project was delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety, and in a cost-effective and timely manner.
