Short Lane, Rose Hill
Client: Parramatta City Council
The purpose of the works was to improve stormwater management in the street. Pit and pipe drainage infrastructure, new kerb and gutter, dish drains, and headwalls were installed as part of the works.
Existing and underperforming services were decommissioned and removed from the site. ACSG constructed and installed new footpaths, driveways, and pram ramps. Streetscape works including line marking, signposting, top soil, and turf ensured an improvement to the overall aesthetic of the street.
The residents of the street and local community were critical project stakeholders. ACSG treated community expectation management as a paramount key performance indicator while undertaking these works.
Works planning was vital. Staging had to ensure community disruption was minimised or completely mitigated where possible. This was challenging given the limited space to work in due to the narrow geometry of the lane.
Effective communication meant that the residents of the street were given adequate notification of upcoming scheduled works and were advised if works would affect access to their properties. Traffic management was used to navigate residents around the works. Effective execution of the planned work meant ACSG successfully completed the scope of works.
